Violence against women is reaching epic proportions in South Africa,
it is a culture that women themselves have at some levels come to see as normal. Awareness is key to fighting these issues. It is difficult to contain what continues to be a problem that lurks within the social fabric of society, and for some reason is deemed acceptable. Without a shift in the conciousness of women themselves and their understanding of their own worth, the scurge of violence will continue to erode what gains women have made in empowering themselves.
