About:Transition year students from St. Mary’s Secondary school in New Ross will learn about different careers from the Medical sector in Lake Region and will receive practical life skill guidance through a series of structured and fun modules. The workshops are designed for young people of all abilities and are interactive using the “learning-by-doing” teaching methodology. This event will link the business and education sectors by having Lake Region business volunteers lead the workshops. The business volunteers will act as positive role models to the children through and will bring their practical experience of manufacturing and science to the workshops and share their own workplace experience with the young people. They can also provide career advice and encouragement to the students to complete their education and consider a career in science and manufacturing in the future.
