Event:IWD PROMENADE EXPO, RALLY, AND 5K WALK/RUN
About:This entails a public display of the work that the membership of the Network of NGOs does along with some of the other partners and sponsors for the event. At midday there will be a street procession where participants will walk through the streets of Port of Spain with placards, posters and banners displaying messages, tag lines and statements relating to the IWD theme. This is a traditional part of our International Women’s Day celebrations and we are looking forward to having at least one thousand participants this year. This year we are hoping to introduce a street theatre presentation in the walk. The rally and expo on the Brian Lara Promenade serves to showcase the work that women and women’s organisations are doing all over the country and inform the general public of the services available to them and how to access them. The participants also look forward to inspiring messages of solidarity during the day and entertainment in the afternoon.
