|Event:||WOMEN IN THE CHAIN - IWD MELBOURNE LUNCH|
Join the AWCCI at our International Women's Day lunch if you believe self-employed women deserve a fair go in business!
Jane Caro (award winning advertising writer and Destroy the Joint campaigner) will be our host, along with a panel of authorities, to discuss why women are excluded from supply chains and how we can change the statistics.
World Bank data illustrates that women procure only 1% of all contracts even though women own around 40% of businesses. And although supply chains are made up of providers that deliver information, resources, products and/or services to other businesses, the majority of women in business don't have access to contracts.
In the USA, 5% of all Federal Government contracts must go to women business owners. In Australia our Federal Treasury refuses to provide information on how much of the $9 Billion worth of contracts are obtained by women each year.
