To celebrate International Women’s Day this March, an online community of women will blog, Tweet, and Vlog about the WOMEN WHO WOW, and further delve into the topic through a virtual radio show.

Women on the Verge (WOTV) is a virtual group of women all around the world that converge on the Women on the Verge website to express themselves and find sisterly support. While members discuss anything of their liking, there is a monthly topic which for the month of March is: WOMEN WHO WOW. Anyone can create a free account and start making new “sisters” by joining the community.

“This is the month to honor and be grateful for the fabulous women in this world, who inspire us to try harder and do better and most of all, to care,” says Tucsonan Ana Lewis, who founded the website in 2009. “Embrace your sisterhood, your team and remember why they are so very, very important in the big picture”.

International Women’s Day, on March 8, celebrates the changing female role in society and their economic, political and social achievements. All historical women down to today’s everyday women, have mothers, sisters and friends that helped become the women they are. WOTV members will honor all sisters and voice the impact they have in their lives, and in doing so are part of the official events on the International Women's Day web site.

The WOTV blogs, which garner 1,000,000 hits per month, are the main feature of the community and have landed the website in the pages of Marie Claire magazine. The community also boasts an additional 10,000 followers on social media. Members span all over the world and include New York Times bestselling authors, entrepreneurs and mothers. WOTV members have online profiles with pictures and personal information, and can upload comments and become friends, similar to Facebook.

On March 20, some of the WOTV members will talk about their blogs on the Women Change the World online radio show available on the WOTV and BlogTalkRadio web sites. The show airs every third Wednesday of the month, from 6 to 6:30 p.m ET 

Panelists include Jessica Mason Pieklo, women's rights activist and attorney; Dawn Rivers, political junkie and micro-business expert; and Elin Stebbins Waldal, author of “Tornado Warning, A Memoir of Teen Dating Violence and Its Effect on a Woman's Life” and founder of Girls kNOw.
