Committed to #PressforProgress
Vincent A. Forlenza, Chairman and CEO, BD
At BD, we believe that becoming a more gender inclusive and diverse company is extremely important to achieving our vision of driving innovation, better understanding patient and customer needs and making BD the best possible place for talented women to work.
To drive our commitment, we have established company-wide gender diversity goals. This includes initiatives such as building and developing our talent pipeline for high-potential female associates, promoting our flexible workplace policies and further educating and bringing gender inclusion and diversity to our conversations.
We also engage associates through our internal resource group - Women’s Initiative Network - which aspires to create an inclusive and supportive environment to retain and advance women across the organization.
Our people reflect the communities in which we live and work and the customers and patients we serve. As a healthcare company, this is particularly relevant for us as women make 80 percent of healthcare decisions for their families, but many lack access to basic healthcare necessities, especially when it comes to maternal and newborn health. We are dedicated to addressing these issues to ensure women everywhere have access to quality care and innovations in resource-limited populations.
We are excited about the steps we have taken and the improvements we have made, but we know that there is much more to be done. We are proud to be a 2018 International Women’s Day supporter and are committed to #PressforProgress for women in our own organization, as well as those around the world that are touched by our products every day.
