To improve the lives of women is both our legacy and our future
Sheri McCoy, Chief Executive Officer, Avon
"Since our founding in 1886, Avon has been offering women a path to financial independence and improved health and safety. To date Avon and the Avon Foundation for Women have contributed more than $1 billion to the issues that matter most to women, including breast cancer and domestic abuse.
"But there is more work to be done. Domestic abuse remains a major problem in the 21 st century, affecting 1 in 3 women globally. Too many women are trapped, vulnerable to violence in the shadows. As an official International Women’s Day partner, Avon is marking IWD 2017 with Avon Foundation’s most significant contribution yet to tackling domestic abuse in support of the #BeBoldForChange initiative. The Avon Foundation is delighted to be donating nearly £2 million to provide practical help, advice and support for women in need. For more than 130 years, Avon has been breaking down barriers for women around the world, and this year we are committed to breaking down the wall of silence that often surrounds domestic abuse.
"Our company’s mission to improve the lives of women is both our legacy and our future, and we are proud to partner with International Women’s Day to encourage women all over the world to #BeBoldForChange."
