In celebration of International Women’s Day, we’re hosting a panel of powerhouse women to share how they found their voice in male-dominated fields, and how you can too. Join us in downtown Toronto on March 7, 2019, from 6 pm to 9 pm to hear their compelling stories.
Meet the panelists:
Eva Wong is Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer at Borrowell, a fintech company that helps Canadians make great decisions about credit. With a background in management consulting and business development, Eva has worked in both the business and not-for-profit sectors in Canada and abroad, including roles at Maple Leaf Foods and Oliver Wyman. She holds degrees from Harvard University and Queen’s School of Business.
Jeannette Stock is Platform Director at Highline BETA, a venture capital and co-creation company that invests in and builds startups. Jeanette is also co-founder of Venture Out, an LGBTQ+ tech and entrepreneurship community creating a more diverse and inclusive future. Today Jeanette supports the amazing volunteer team behind Venture Out as a Member of the Board of Directors of Start Proud and Venture Out.
Payal Agarwal is a practicing Family Physician and Innovation Fellow at Women's College Hospital. Her work focuses on building, evaluating, and scaling new models to deliver care by leveraging digital health technologies and design thinking principles. Previous projects include virtual primary care visits, a diabetes self management app, and screening and support for post-partum depression. She has also consulted for several health care start-ups and organizations on product design and usability.
Roslyn McLarty is a Co-Founder of The GIST, a digital platform that provides sports content and experiences that are by women and for women. Prior to The GIST, Roslyn earned her CPA, CA designation working in PwC’s Deals and Audit & Assurance groups. Roslyn met her co-founders while studying at Queen’s Commerce.
In lieu of tickets, we ask that attendees bring feminine hygiene products (pads, tampons, etc.) or a cash donation of whatever amount you choose (we suggest five dollars). All proceeds will be donated to The Period Purse, a local not-for-profit focused on providing menstruation products and other care items to Toronto people experiencing homelessness.
Figure 1 is a medical case-sharing platform with a global community of millions of healthcare professionals. We’ve raised more than $20 million in financing from world-class venture capital firms including Union Square Ventures and Samsung NEXT. With this support, our team is tackling the trickiest problems in one of the world’s most complicated industries.
