International Women’s Day 2021: Dress for Success - Empower Hour
When: March 8 2021
Where: Sydney, Australia
Now in its’ 5th year, Dress for Success is powering up our Empower Hour campaign for International Women’s Day, 8 March 2021.
Empower Hour is quite simply a ‘pay it forward’ campaign, you pledge an hour of your pay to help a woman, who may be struggling with unemployment and financial difficulty, on the path to employment and financial security for herself and her family.
Thanks to the incredible support of our supporters and corporate partners, Dress for Success was able to up-skill and empower an additional 414 Australian women in 2020 – helping them out of hardship and into the workforce. In 2020 we’re going to need your help…
We’re looking for companies who are proudly dedicated to female empowerment and equality in their workplace to partner with us for International Women’s Day 2021..
This years’ theme is #ChooseToChallange – We can actively choose to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women’s achievements. Collectively, each one of us can help create change.
The women we support may have been made redundant, been stood down due to the pandemic, have faced gender, age or racial discrimination or may be dealing with a motherhood penalty after giving up their careers to care for children, other family members, recovering from a health-care crisis, the breakdown of a marriage, experiencing domestic violence or inter-generational poverty.
There are so many barriers to gaining a foothold in the workforce for many women and our programs reconnect clients who are often isolated and facing financial despair through dressing services, workshops and coaching to find work.
We’re stronger and more powerful when we come together so partner with Dress for Success this International Women’s Day and together we can choose to challenge and help create a fairer and equal world for Australian women.
