Festival of Ideas IWD 2020
When: January 16 2020
Where: Singapore, Singapore
IWD2020 Ideas Festival: Think bigger.
Concrete action for gender balance.
Accelerate gender balance in 2020 with a high impact #IWD2020 in your organisation or community. Join with other change-makers and contribute to the collective vision for a gender-balanced world. Take away a menu of actionable initiatives to put into place in your organisation.
International Women’s Day is an unparalleled moment to focus attention on gender balance. IWD2020 is on Sunday 8 March, with many organisations planning to celebrate on Friday 6th March through events, announcements, campaigns and social media.
In the IWD2020 Ideas Festival we will apply design thinking to the challenge:
How might we activate IWD2020 to hasten real gender balance?
“Let's build a gender-balanced world. Balance is not a women's issue, it's a business issue. The race is on for the gender-balanced boardroom, a gender-balanced government, gender-balanced media coverage, a gender-balance of employees, more gender-balance in wealth, gender-balanced sports coverage ... Gender balance is essential for economies and communities to thrive.” – International Women’s Day
The Ideas Festival has been conceived in response to a universal question: what’s next for diversity and inclusion? Considerable effort has been put into creating awareness of the value of diversity and the need for inclusion, but subsequent behaviour change takes time.
The festival will take the format of a hackathon, with teams working through the challenge as it applies to their focus area. We provide you with themes and insights that we have curated as jumping off points. Co-create breakthrough ideas for gender-balance in your organisation and make a real impact this International Women’s Day.
Teams will come away with goals, activation plans, and tools to support implementation of IWD2020 activities.
If you feel the urgency for change, join the festival. Bring a team from your organisation to work on your IWD2020, or come along and join with others to generate initiatives that put Singapore firmly on the world stage in thought leadership and impact.
