Scottish Chamber Choir celebrating women composers
When: March 8 2020
Where: Edinburgh, United Kingdom
International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality.
The Scottish Chamber Choir wanted to mark this day by celebrating the achievements of women composers through the ages.
Its programme will include the mystic Medieval plainchant of Hildegard von Bingen, florid Renaissance polyphony of Leonora d'Este, lush French Romanticism of Lili Boulanger, and sacred works by contemporary British composers.
