Support for businesses on how to progress ratification of Convention 190
When: March 9 2020
Where: London, United Kingdom
Ethical Trading Initiative, a leading alliance of companies, trade unions and NGOs that promotes respect for workers' rights around the globe, is pleased to be hosting an International Women’s Day event to shape our approach to ensuring the International Labour Organisation Convention 190 on violence & harassment at work is widely ratified.
They will also launch a report, compiled by Women Working Worldwide, entitled Safe Spaces, that details case studies on how women workers around the world have accessed their rights and protections.
The aim of the event is to explore how ETI members can work collaboratively, across different market sectors, to demonstrate leadership in the countries they source from on progressing the ratification of the Convention.
Equally important is how we use the current guidance, such as ETI Base Code Guidance on Gender, and the new report recommendations on how to create safe working spaces for the most vulnerable in our supply chains.
The event will start with a networking lunch.
Come along and find out about how businesses can work collaboratively to put pressure on country governments to ratify the Convention, and protect the rights of some of the world's most vulnerable workers.
The event is being held on 9th March, at UCU, University and College Union, Carlow Street, London NW1 7LH
