BAG Networks celebrates IWD, highlights Work-Life Balance
When: March 8 2017
Where: Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam
To mark International Women’s Day 2017, BAG Networks recently held a gathering to recognize, appreciate and encourage its women professionals especially working mothers in balancing work and life commitments. The event themed, “Be Bold for Change: Work-Life Balance”, was a BAG Networks corporate initiative supported by eBunda, its Corporate Social Responsibility programme to champion women interests and development.
The highlight of the event was a sharing session on work-life balance by Hjh Siti Rozana Dato Paduka Hj Md Yunos, Head of Corporate Services at BAG Networks.
Hjh Siti Rozana elaborated, “About one quarter of our workforce is made up of working mothers, who are contributing actively and productively towards the success of BAG Networks. Therefore, this celebration is an apt opportunity for us to learn and to share with each other on how our working mothers struggle and succeed in balancing work and life commitments. On this International Women’s Day, these women are the unsung heroines in our midst, and definitely deserve our appreciation!”
The session continued with a lively fireside chat between three working mothers in BAG Networks; Rachel Chew, Farhanna Pura and Noraidah Harun, who spoke on their personal experiences in balancing work and family commitments. The event ended with an open session including questions and answers as well as insights from the audience.
Working mothers who attended the event were presented with a handmade purse and a gift voucher each, as well as thank you notes that they could, in return, appreciate the support by their spouses and family members in balancing their work-life commitments.
