On IWD and beyond, support women-focused charities and their impactful work
While International Women's Day (IWD) is about celebration and advocacy, we're on a mission to make it one of the biggest GIVING DAYS of the year. IWD GIVING provides a powerful opportunity to support local charities and nonprofits, and to help elevate the visibility of their impactful work.
Below are a few examples of charities that called for donations as they joined the call in 2025 to help Accelerate Action for gender equality.
Friendship Bridge empowers indigenous women in rural Guatemala

"According to the Global Gender Gap Index, Guatemala consistently ranks as the most gender unequal country in Latin America. On International Women's Day, help us make a difference in the lives of women in Guatemala," said Friendship Bridge.
Friendship Bridge is a nonprofit social enterprise creating opportunities that empower women in Guatemala to build a better life. Friendship Bridge works primarily with indigenous women in rural Guatemala where the rate of poverty is the highest. While illiteracy and poverty rates are staggering in these regions, the women Friendship Bridge works with are determined to create a change.

Grampian Women's Aid offers a specialist service to domestic abuse victims

Grampian Women’s Aid offers a free, confidential and non-judgemental, specialist service to women, children and young people in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire who have experienced domestic abuse. Grampian Women’s Aid works within a framework of recognising the gendered nature of domestic abuse and violence against women, which is routed in gender inequality. Grampian Women’s Aid believes that all women, children and young people have the right to live free from abuse.

I Support the Girls helps make dignity the norm

"Accelerate Action toward period equity, gender equity, and supporting all women and girls today," said I Support the Girls.
Through an international network of Affiliates, I Support the Girls collects and distributes essential items, including bras, underwear, and menstrual hygiene products, allowing women experiencing homelessness, impoverishment, or distress to stand tall with dignity.

The Haven Wolverhampton supports vulnerable women

Surviving Economic Abuse transforms responses to economic abuse

Surviving Economic Abuse is the only UK charity dedicated to raising awareness of economic abuse and transforming responses to it. Surviving Economic Abuse influences changes to professional practice, systems, policy, legislation, and regulation so they recognise economic abuse and better support victim-survivors. Surviving Economic Abuse's professional training makes sure when survivors reach out to the police, confide in a GP, or disclose to their bank, they are given the right support.

ACWS works to end domestic violence in Alberta, Canada

ACWS works with members with to end domestic violence through culture-shifting violence prevention programs, collective data and research, and front-line training. ACWS brings four decades of experience and knowledge to serve its 41 members operating over 50 shelters across the province for women, their children, and seniors facing domestic abuse.

Committed to rehabilitation of prisoners and prison leavers

"Today is International Women's Day. About 12,000 women are sent to prison in the UK every year, twice as many as 20 years ago. We have worked with double the number of women in 2024 than we did in 2023. Donate now to support our work," said Fine Cell Work.
Fine Cell Work is a charity and social enterprise committed to the rehabilitation of prisoners through providing them with purposeful activity. Nottingham Women's Centre helps women achieve their goals

Nottingham Women's Centre exists to help all self-identifying women in Nottinghamshire reach their full potential, have their voices heard, and overcome barriers to create a better future for themselves and their children. Nottingham Women's Centre is also a free, safe community space in Nottingham City Centre where any self-identifying woman can drop in for a cup of tea in the Welcome Space or relax and browse the Women’s Library.
