Ferlix Christian Campugan doodled a playful lettering design for IWD

Creatives play an important role in elevating International Women's Day (IWD) through helping amplify awareness raising. Via their creative contributions, audiences worldwide are engaged through collective action to help forge gender equality.

Each year the IWD Lettering Challenge, in association with the global Typism community, calls for creative designs that support an annual IWD focus and showcase the impressive talent of creators.

Here, we shine a spotlight on one such creative, an ally for women creatives, Ferlix Christian Campugan, and showcase his IWD 2025 Accelerate Action design.

Ferlix is part of #Typism100, a directory that helps lettering artists attract new clients through showcasing their skills to a wider audience.

Ferlix is a lettering artist and children’s book illustrator from the Philippines specializing in playful doodle lettering. Ferlix's whimsical style captures hearts and sparks the imagination. A devoted dog lover, Ferlix finds happiness and inspiration in the company of his beloved pup, Miranda.

Experimenting with mixing doodles and lettering

When Ferlix was in high school, he started to use bounce lettering and faux calligraphy for all the school projects that I created.

"I love drawing cartoons and doodles, and I found my passion for it. I experimented with mixing doodles and lettering," says Ferlix.

Letting his imagination explode with patterns

When developing and refining a new lettering style or project, Ferlix searches for "goofy fonts" and traces and draws above them, letting his imagination explode with those doodle characters and patterns. Ferlix uses Procreate and Procreate Dreams in his animations, and explores and experiments with his tools until he finds ways and styles that fit him.

"I have opened my mind to different kinds of styles, learned from other artists, gained a lot of knowledge from them, and learned from my mistakes," says Ferlix.
