Yanda Mae and husband Ferlix Christian Campugan create engaging Give To Gain piece
Through expressive lettering design, artists worldwide can play a vital role in driving conversations around gender equality.
Each year, International Women’s Day sees a celebration of creative talent that helps keep conversations about gender equality bold, visible, and impossible to ignore.
Each year the IWD Lettering Challenge, in association with the global Typism community, calls for creative designs that support an annual IWD focus and showcase the impressive talent of creators.
The challenge aims to raise awareness, showcase talent, and provide visibility for creatives while supporting gender equality.
Here, we shine a spotlight on an IWD 2028 Give to Gain animated design that is the result of a collaborative and creative effort between Yanda Mae and her husband Ferlix Christian Campugan.
A creative collaboration
Yanda Mae did the calligraphy lettering, while Ferlix created the animated character "Pingping” who likes to share wholesome quotes, and also painted the sunset background.
Investing in kindness and support
When asked what Give To Gain means to them, Ferlix commented: “Give some things and not expect some things in return. Invest in kindness, support, and time without keeping score.”
For Ferlix, International Women’s Day is a reminder of how far the journey has come towards equality.
“But it also reminds us that there is still work to be done. Every girl deserves the right to dream boldly. Every woman deserves equal opportunity, respect, and a voice that is heard,” said Ferlix.
