Participate in International Women's Day 2027 and make your contribution count

You don't need a big budget, a high-profile position, or an elaborate plan to make a meaningful contribution. You just need a reason to get involved.

International Women's Day (IWD) creates an opportunity for people everywhere to contribute in ways that reflect their interests, skills, resources, and ambitions.

Some people organize major events. Others volunteer, share expertise, support a cause, champion women in their workplace, or bring attention to an issue that matters to them.

There's no single formula for meaningful participation. And there's certainly no requirement to do everything.

What matters is finding something worthwhile that you can do.

Find your way to participate

Whether you're an individual, business, school, nonprofit, or community group, there are many ways to turn good intentions into something tangible.

Perhaps you could:

  • Bring people together

Organize an IWD event that encourages meaningful conversations, learning, and connection.

  • Support a cause

Incorporate fundraising or charitable support into your IWD activities to benefit women and girls.

  • Share what you know

Contribute an article, useful resource, or practical insight that others could benefit from.

  • Create economic opportunities

Make a conscious effort to include women-owned businesses in your purchasing and event supply chains.

  • Champion progress

Support the IWD 2027 Progress Parity campaign by raising awareness, recognizing advancement, and encouraging practical action.

Make participation meaningful

Getting involved is a good starting point.

Thinking about what your involvement could achieve makes it even more worthwhile.

An event might introduce people who go on to collaborate.

A workplace discussion might identify an outdated practice worth changing.

A charitable initiative might generate support for an organization doing important work.

The most effective contributions often begin with a clear purpose and a willingness to follow through.

And while March 8 provides a powerful occasion to focus attention, there's no reason for worthwhile activity to end when the day is over.

Your contribution starts with you

Participation doesn't have to be complicated.

It can start with one decision, one initiative, or one commitment to doing something differently.

Choose something that matters to you.

Make it achievable.

Invite others to contribute where appropriate.

And most importantly, give it a go.

You don't have to do everything to make a difference. But there's always something you can do.

Find your opportunity. Get involved. Make your contribution count.
