Faustina Yang

Human Resource Consultant & Chinese Woman of the Year 2023

Faustina is a Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Associate Member. Formally Head of People in a commercial company, Faustina now works as an HR Consultant providing vital HR and employment support to voluntary sector organisations locally and nationally. She is also appointed as a Community Engagement Specialist for NHS England, contributing to the redesign and transformation of primary and community mental health care.

Faustina has track record of managing successful programmes and projects, leading transformation and service improvement, and develop and encourage innovative ideas. This includes working in university environment as well as commercial banking, international cooperate companies.

Faustina has a passion for community work and making a difference. She is the founder and leader for five community groups:
• Chinese Community in Peterborough, since 2013
• Chinese Women in Peterborough, since 2013
• Peterborough Mums UK (over 7300 members) since 2013
• Hampton Tiddlers (over 1000 families) since 2014
• Community Champions Alliance since July 2023
Past and current charitable roles include:
• Board Trustee for Peterborough Council for Voluntary Services for 2 years – Feb 2019 to Jan 2021
• Governor for Inspire Education Group (Peterborough College, Stamford College and University Centre Peterborough) for Human Resource and Finance – October 2021 to present.
• Board Trustee for UK Chinese Women Connect – August 2021 to present
• Community Champion and Influencer for Peterborough City Council – March 2020 to present
• Founder and Board Trustee for Community Champions Alliance – July 2023 to present
• 1st Founder President of Peterborough International Rotary Club – April 2023 to present
• Trailblazer Judging Panellist for Race Equality Matters - 2023
• BBC Make a Difference Award Judge Green category – 2023
• Cambridgeshire Constabulary Key Individual for Safer Peterborough – since 2022

Passionate about tackling inequality, in employment, and in accessing health and social services, Faustina is keen to raise the importance of cohesion and integration. She uses her skills to engage, collaborate and influence at every opportunity to make a difference. She has been interviewed by national and local media including BBC TV, ITV, and BBC radio, BBC News and local press. She is also a keynote speaker at local festivals and community events.

She has worked in national charities such as Near Neighbours, Rosa UK, Smallwood Trust.  Her work was demonstrated her work to the Ministry of Housing and Department of Education by Near Neighbours.
