Andrea Clarke

Lawyer & advocate for diversity, equity & inclusion

Andrea seeks to challenge her audience to reframe how they view equity and inclusion through their contextual perspective. Andrea's main goal is to have the audience understand that by relating to one's lived experiences, you can change your narrative and impact those around you.

Understanding the importance of equity and our perceptions of our contextual limitations will assist us in reframing how we make decisions and have uncomfortable conversations.

Andrea is a litigation lawyer who relies on anecdotal evidence through her work about the importance of the impact of the stories that we tell ourselves. She works to engage the audience in understanding that being able to look at things from a different perspective will fundamentally change the way that we deal with difficulties, obstacles and challenges.

Andrea has had the opportunity to spend many years living and working in the UK before returning to Canada with her husband and three children. Since returning, Andrea has built a dynamic law practice, is acting Deputy Mayor of her Municipality and continues to advocate for inclusion, equity and diversity.

Andrea has her B.Sc from Brock University, her LLB from the University of Birmingham, and MBA from the University of Birmingham. She is called to the Bar in England and Wales, New York and Ontario.
