Caron Asgarali

Helping others using the principles of building resilience adopted from her system the GAMESHIFTER

Caron is a mother, an educator, an author and a survivor of gun violence.

Through a combination of faith, personal strength and resilience, she has re-built her life from almost ground zero after being shot in the face, chest and shoulder during an attempted robbery at the age of 47 in 2013.

By starting an advocacy group against gun violence and for peace, she has given new meaning to that act of violence against her.

Her three books were written after being shot. The first is a memoir, From Lion to Lamb, A Spiritual Journey. The second is a prayer book, Gently Powerful Personal Prayers for Collective Grace. The third book is entitled, "Bounce Back Better, 10 +1 Key Steps for Building Resilience.

She has spoken locally at a variety of events including at schools, at a Christmas Brunch for a reputable Insurance Company, at a Christian Chamber of Commerce breakfast morning in Oviedo, Miami and at a several Rotary Club events locally including at a Youth Symposium on International Peace Day.
Last year, 2017, she presented at a breakout session at the Pathways to Resilience IV: Global South Perspectives on the topic: "Resilience in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago: A Caribbean Response to Crime, Sudden Violence and Personal Devastation."

She has spoken at tertiary institutions on gun violence and hosted a gun violence conference along with a local university in June 2018.
In 2018, Caron was one of twenty BBC Outlook Inspirations nominees. This is an internationally recognized award hosted by the BBC of the United Kingdom.
