Her work sits at the intersection of science, culture, and human behavior. As a mom of 4, professor and researcher, and Founder of AnthroSpa Logic, LLC, Dr. Butler DeLong developed her own science-based clean skincare line, using her background in anthropology and combining ingredients from 6 continents around the globe while teaching as an adjunct professor. She has developed and taught numerous anthropology and sociology courses across topics such as Native American cultures, African cultures, Latin American cultures, research methods, public policy, social problems and identity. Dr. Butler DeLong, shares her experiences and insights as a mom who was inspired by her own interest in visiting spas to rejuvenate herself and health journey to develop a signature, natural clean skincare line that offered anti-aging results without toxic effects. She could not find these options in spas and as someone who liked to make her own natural treatments at home she developed an eco-friendly,100% natural product line.
Dr. Butler Delong became interested in helping people feel better on the inside as well as the outside by becoming a Mayo Clinic Certified wellness coach following the birth of her 4 children. She developed a digital metabolic renewal wellness program for people over 40 to reach their wellness goals holistically and also consults with organizations who want to start wellness initiatives. In addition, she founded a 501 (c ) (3) nonprofit organizations called TransformaWell a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the health and wellness of communities through education, community outreach and resources empowering healthy lifestyle change to prevent chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, obesity, heart disease and cancer.
A Summa Cum Laude graduate and Phi Beta Kappa member, she earned her Ph.D. in cultural anthropology from the University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor. As an NSF and Social Science Research Council fellow, she has conducted research on cultural identity in Kenya and the United States. She has consulted for major institutions such as the University of Illinois Carle College of Medicine, where she developed wellness centers for Chicago public Schools and curriculum to train youth as community health workers, she brings a rare combination of academic rigor, global perspective, and practical wisdom. Her insights have been featured on ABC News, NBC News, Wellness Magazine, CS Modern Luxury, and in the GRAMMY Awards VIP gift bags.
