Book IWD Speaker: Tingi Ko

Examining what happens to women’s careers after motherhood & how maternal bias, identity shifts & workplace culture shape their possibilities

Tingi Ko is a coach, speaker and facilitator whose work examines what happens to women’s careers after motherhood, and the personal, cultural and workplace forces that shape what feels possible.

With 20 years of experience spanning start-ups, entrepreneurship and global technology companies including Google, Apple and LinkedIn, Tingi brings a broad perspective on women and work. Her own transition into motherhood prompted her to look more closely at how becoming a mother can reshape a woman’s relationship with her identity, career and ambition.

Today, Tingi works with women and organizations at the intersection of motherhood, identity and work. Her talks explore matrescence, maternal bias, the invisible mental load and inherited expectations around motherhood, as well as the workplace cultures and assumptions that can shape women’s careers after children.

Rather than treating women’s career decisions after motherhood as purely personal choices or purely workplace problems, Tingi examines the interaction between the two.

Drawing on research, her corporate career, coaching practice and lived experience, she invites audiences to question what changes for women when they become mothers, what changes around them, and how those forces influence their career decisions.

Her talks combine personal stories with practical frameworks that give audiences a different way to think about motherhood, ambition and women’s careers.

Based in Hong Kong, Tingi is an ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC) and Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC).

She works with individuals and organizations across Asia and internationally through speaking, coaching and facilitation.

She is also a mother of two young daughters and an avid strength trainer.
