SIGNATURE TALK

Stop Putting Yourself Last: What it costs when capable women keep carrying everything

Women are praised for giving, coping and keeping everything moving.

But being the woman who can always manage comes at a cost.

Women begin second-guessing their decisions, ignoring what they need and placing themselves at the bottom of a priority list that never gets finished. This affects their energy, confidence, boundaries, visibility and the contribution they can make at work and in life.

Emma reveals why highly capable women fall into this pattern, how it can disguise itself as simply being “helpful” or “responsible,” and what becomes possible when they begin trusting their own judgement again.

This is an honest, engaging and practical talk—not another instruction to practise more self-care.

Audiences leave understanding:

• Why capable women repeatedly put themselves last
• How overgiving and second-guessing affect their confidence, decisions and results
• How to recognise what they genuinely want—not simply what everyone expects from them
• One practical decision they can make immediately to put themselves back on their own priority list

CREATIVE WORKSHOP

Self-Portraits in Glass: See yourself differently

For organisations wanting something more experiential, Emma transforms these ideas into a fully guided fused-glass workshop.

Participants explore who they have become, what they are ready to stop carrying and what they want to choose next. They then create a personal fused-glass piece that captures their insight and becomes a lasting reminder long after the event has ended.

No artistic experience is needed. Emma guides every stage, fires the finished glass and returns the completed pieces.

It is ideal for International Women’s Day events, women’s networks, leadership and wellbeing days, employability programmes and teams navigating change.
