Book IWD Speaker: Holly Dunn
Registered Nutritionist (MSc, ANutr, mBANT, CNHC)
Holly Dunn is a Registered Associate Nutritionist (MSc, ANutr) and Registered Nutritional Therapist (PGDip, mBANT, CNHC) specialising in functional hypothalamic amenorrhoea (FHA or “HA”). With over six years of clinical experience working privately with hundreds of women across the UK and internationally, she helps clients achieve lasting, sustainable period recovery and rebuild trust in their bodies, through personalised, evidence-based, education-led nutrition and lifestyle support.
Women with HA are often told to "just go on the pill," or left to work recovery out alone. Holly works differently. She helps each client understand why her period has stopped, not just what to do about it, and holds to the belief that recovery should never mean losing who you are.
As a Registered Nutritionist, Holly is well placed to provide the nuanced support that HA's related health concerns require, from protecting and improving bone density and preparing for pregnancy to safeguarding long-term cardiovascular health. Her work often means gently unravelling patterns that have quietly built up over time, alongside fear around food and a sense of disconnection from the body. She works clinically and in depth, combining detailed analysis, testing where appropriate, and a strong education-led approach. Helping a woman understand why her period has stopped, and precisely how key nutritional and lifestyle changes can reverse her amenorrhoea, is often what makes recovery something she can trust, and keep.
Holly holds a Master of Science degree in Clinical Nutrition with distinction from the University of Aberdeen, achieving awards for academic excellence and best performance across all MSc postgraduate programmes run by the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition. She also holds a postgraduate diploma in Nutritional Therapy with distinction, achieving the award for Academic Excellence in Nutrition from the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London. She has trained with the National Centre for Eating Disorders in the UK and continues extensive further education and research in women's health and functional hypothalamic amenorrhoea.
Holly is registered with the Association for Nutrition (AfN), the leading professional body for qualified nutritionists in the UK, which defines and advances standards of evidence-based practice across the field. She is also a member of the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine and is regulated by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council. She holds an award-winning first-class Master of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh, and is a fully qualified yoga instructor.
Before working in nutrition, Holly worked for the Royal Household and in a variety of corporate roles, working closely with leaders and executives. Alongside her clinical practice, she mentors Nutritional Therapists on complex HA and PCOS cases, and speaks on women's hormone health, including for corporate audiences on request.
