McDonald's flip golden arches to celebrate International Women's Day
You may notice something a little different about our hallmark Golden Arches today," says Wendy Lewis, Global Chief Diversity Officer and Vice President of Global Community Engagement for McDonald’s Corporation.
"In celebration of women everywhere, and for the first time in our brand history, we flipped our iconic arches for International Women’s Day on March 8 in honor of the extraordinary accomplishments of women everywhere and especially in our restaurants."
Today in the U.S., 62% of McDonald’s employees are female, six out of 10 of restaurant managers are women and we have one of the largest supplier diversity programs designed to support our global operations.
Celebrating women everywhere on the journey to progress
For International Women’s Day, McDonald's has flipped their Golden Arches to celebrate the women who have chosen McDonald’s to be a part of their story.
In their engaging video, they proudly share the story of their very own Patricia Williams, who was determined to show her daughters the value of hard work.
30 years later, she and her daughters are the owners of 18 McDonald's restaurants.
The video has a great story, one so many women can relate to
Without women, there would be no McDonald's
A proud supporter of International Women's Day, McDonald's is honored to be chosen by millions of women who have made them part of their stories.
This signifcant gesture by McDonald's represents a huge #PressforProgress and celebrates the strength and tenacity of women everywhere.
