Extraordinary Women Talking
When: March 8 2019
Where: Brecon, United Kingdom
In association with Brecon Women’s Festival, Theatr Brycheiniog is hosting an evening of talks from Wales’ most inspiring and adventurous women. Join us, as we celebrate curiosity, challenges and our natural environment.
The evening will be hosted and compered by local outdoor enthusiast, Juliet Parker Smith who has spent her working life in Adventure Education. Juilet will be introducing Sian Sykes and Ruth Pickvance.
Sian recently completed a solo 1000km journey around Wales, paddle-boarding through rivers, canals and the ocean. Along the way she collected plastic pollution and inspired others to make a pledge against plastic.
Ruth Pickvance is the director of Element Active and a former international level mountain runner. Curiosity, exploration, challenge and an appreciation of the natural world is at the very core of her being and inspires her to write, travel, work abroad and run up and down VERY big mountains! Ruth will be reflecting on what adventure actually is; the big and small challenges that are unique to everyone.
This event is complimented by an exhibition in our Andrew Lamont Gallery and is part of Brecon Women’s Festival.
