30 locations, thousands of people: Dell Technologies celebrates IWD in an impressive way

For International Women’s Day (IWD), Dell Technologies was particularly keen to broaden the impact and awareness raising opportunity that International Women’s Day can bring. And, they wanted to ensure IWD was run smoothly across a significant number of locations for Dell Technologies worldwide. 

An impressive IWD broadcast connected and inspired employees

In two specific locations, Dell Technologies demonstrated its significant support by delivering two days of outstanding IWD activity via a live conference event in Round Rock, Texas and in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, USA. 

This impressive IWD activity was filmed and broadcast live across the world - and also heavily accessed as a recorded option.

During the company's full day internal conferences, they incorporated a diverse set of external keynote speakers including local women entrepreneurs and members of the Dell Women’s Entrepreneur Network who spoke alongside Dell Technologies executives.

Engaging the company's employees

The company consistently focused their IWD keynote addresses and subsequent activity on IWD's #BalanceforBetter theme to engage and inspire their employees.

Scaling access and participation

Dell Technologies successfully doubled their event sizes from previous years via their two full-day internal IWD conferences that provided the highly successful global virtual broadcast. 

In the prior year, Dell Technologies had a few thousand people participate globally. 

Subsequent efforts meant the significant increase in number of participants was well received.

Dell Technologies used the opportunity to raise greater awareness about women's equality, increase employee engagement and to celebrate the achievements of its women.

An effective resource available for all

Dell Technologies worked with the company's diversity champions across regions to drive consistent messaging and to share best practices in aligning with IWD #BalanceforBetter theme.

The company's IWD virtual broadcast and recording provided all of Dell Technologies's locations across the globe with clear focus and of course an important resource. 

Engagement across countries and cultures

The company's IWD broadcast was certainly very successful in gathering and engaging a cross-section of employees across all countries.

Reinforcing a balance for better

Dell Technologies actively adopted and promoted IWD's #BalanceforBetter thematic pose and overtly used its imagery in the company's internal marketing campaigns. 

The company also authored numerous internal blogs that addressed the importance of balance and gender parity. 

Many people were involved in ongoing activities across the company.

Ensuring men are included in helping forge women's equality

Dell Technologies also highlighted and reinforced to its employees the importance of participating in Many Advocating for Real Change training which has been rolled out to all the company's managers and executives.

Dell Technologies also stressed the importance of embedding and valuing Diversity and Inclusion across all their lines of business. 

To reinforce this, diversity and balance were key concepts reinforced at ever point within the company's activity.

Dell Technologies also celebrated their involvement in a STEM Aspire program that ensures the company is building a diverse and robust STEM talent pipeline across the company.

There were also several opportunities made available for participants to contribute to charitable organizations supporting women's empowerment organizations. 

Providing important networking opportunities

In all, over 30 locations celebrated IWD and engaged in their own further IWD activities and events, in addition to their participation in the global broadcast and recording that provided an excellent opportunity for an IWD 'watch' party. 

Dell Technologies also ensured that their internal IWD events provided useful networking opportunities with Dell Technologies' executives and leaders from across different lines of business.

Smiles all round as everyone can play a part

Dell Technologies Women In Action Employee Resource Group, Diversity Team, Corporate Communications and Dell Technologies Team Members certainly created a considerable and important impact across the globe to help forge women's equality.
