Collingwood, Ontario, International Women's Day Event
When: March 8 2020
Where: Collingwood, Canada
The Town of Collingwood, Ontario, wants to create a gender equal world. It understands that we're all responsible for our own thoughts and actions and that we need to challenge stereotypes, broaden perceptions, and change situations.
For Collingwood, an equal world is an enabled world, so let's all be #EachforEqual.
The Town of Collingwood formally recognized and celebrated International Women's Day in 2019 with a Keynote Speaking Engagement & Panel Discussion, a Munch & Mingle, and a Flag Raising & Proclamation Ceremony.
The events were very well attended and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. In response, the Town will host a similar set of events in 2020 and will be encouraging local businesses to join in the celebrations.
On Sunday, March 8, the town is hosting a panel Discussion and networking social from 2-4 pm, Simcoe Street Theatre. The event seeks to inform and inspire all genders while everyone explores what it means to be a gender equal world.
Proceeds from this event will be donated to My Friend's House. Tickets will be $15 but no one will be turned away due to inability to pay. Speaker bios and ticket link coming soon!
