North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Leadership and Development
When: March 8 2020
Where: North Yorkshire, United Kingdom
The day celebrates the achievements of women from around the world. But this isn’t just about just singling out women, the day focuses on unity, equality and advocacy; creating an equal and enabled environment.
This year to support the day North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue are opening up training centre doors and inviting nonoperational, women members of staff to come along and participate in some firefighter activities. This will include getting to wear breathing apparatus in compartment fire behaviour container along with using kit and equipment used at road traffic collision. There will also be classroom based sessions on health awareness and team building activities.
The day will also be used as a keeping in touch day for women who have shown an interest in becoming an on call or wholetime firefighter as part of its recruitment campaigns.
