International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality. International Women's Day (IWD) has occurred for well over a century, with the first IWD gathering in 1911 supported by over a million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere.

Joy Harjo is an internationally renowned performer and writer of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation. She is the author of nine books of poetry, several plays, children's books, and a memoir, and also has five award-winning music albums.
Sweta Ravisankar is a trained Bharatanatyam artist and has been in this field of performing art for the past 25 years. She runs her dance school “Sarada Kala Nilayam” in Portland, OR and San Jose, CA.
