As executive sponsor of WIN (Women’s Initiative Network), BD’s largest associate resource group (ARG), I’ve seen first-hand the impact we can have when we create a culture of individual belonging and empowerment. Members of WIN (and our related WIN + STEM ARG, which focuses on the science and technology fields) have been instrumental in creating opportunities for all of our 65,000+ global associates to network, navigate their career, and find - or be - a mentor.
We continuously assess our talent processes and policies to ensure fairness and eliminate barriers to career advancement; Bloomberg recently named BD to its 2020 Gender-Equality Index in recognition of our transparence in gender reporting and advancing women’s equality in the workplace. We have also been recognized by 2020 Women on Boards for having a Board of Directors comprised of at least 20% women.
