1st Annual "Yoga & Women's Empowerment Conference"
When: March 7 2021
Where: Los Angeles, United States
Our First Annual "Yoga & Women's Empowerment Conference" will unite global, like-minded womxn leaders for a discussion on gender inequalities and how yoga can be used as a tool to create change within practitioners and communities.
For the first time, the panelists, leaders of international yoga organizations, will join forces to deliver a thought-provoking dialogue that we hope will inspire you to #ChooseToChallenge gender inequalities with yoga.
This Year's Event
Join this year's powerful panel: Tiffany Cruickshank (Yoga Medicine Seva), Hala Khouri (Off the Mat, Into the World), Maggie LaRocca (Exhale ot Inhale), Kayoko Mitsumatsu (Yoga Gives Back) and Christina Wherry (Yoga & Body Image Coalition), with Emcee Melanie Klein.
Let's come together as womxn yoga practitioners to celebrate yoga in our lives, especially during this time of high anxiety and stress with COVID-19 and social unrest everywhere in the world. Change begins within.
This event participates in the global campaign: "International Women's Day" with this year's theme: #ChooseToChallenge.
The panel will discuss questions such as:
How does your organization apply yoga in empowering women and addressing gender inequality?
How can yoga classes deliver tools to empower women and overcome gender inequalities?
The significance of this event is that the five organizations who share yoga and women’s empowerment as their core mission, come together and collaborate for the first time and seeds this annual gathering of women yoga practitioners from around the world celebrating International Women’s Day.
This special conference will open with live piano and chanting by talented artist Radhika Vekaria; followed by a dynamic panel discussion with Q & A, and a closing meditation. The event will be one and a half hours long and begins at 9 a.m. PST, 12 p.m. EST, and 5 p.m. London.
