Make an empowerment poster: Celebrate amazing women from history now
When: March 8 2021
Where: Dorset, United Kingdom
Taking place on International Women’s Day, we’ll look at some incredible women from the historical art world. Focus on their interesting achievements from the past and why they are still relevant now. Come with an amazing woman in mind, anyone you like – your nan, a role model from on screen or the music world? Perhaps a member of your community?
We’ll also learn about Hilda Coles – the founder of the museum and a very strong Wimborne character!
During the workshops we’ll make an ‘empowerment poster’ and use techniques similar to some of the artists featured. At the end of the workshop we’d like you to share your final finished posters and we’ll make them into a special souvenir zine –which will be posted to all that took part!
YOU WILL NEED: Pens, a pencil, colouring pencils, 5-8 sheets of A4 or A3 paper Scissors, a glue stick, old magazines to cut up.
