Choose to challenge to collectively create an inclusive world
When: March 13 2021
Where: Virtual, Germany
The Nigerian Community Bayern e.V. is a social organization for all Nigerian citizens living in Bavaria, Germany. The women’s affairs group in the Nigerian Community is responsible for the development of effective working relationships with various relevant stakeholders that include: community leaders, women’s groups and other implementing partners to advocate for the empowerment (diversity, inclusion and equity) of Nigerian women living in Bavaria.
The theme for this international women’s day is highlighting the importance of challenging misconceptions and biases by changing the status quo in order to promote gender equality.
The women of the Nigerian Community Bavaria Germany have chosen to challenge gender inequality by celebrating women's social, cultural, economic and political achievements.
Bridging of gaps and the creation of equal opportunity for all is necessary, therefore it would be great to get a sense of how women (professional or otherwise) have been empowered or not in Germany. Have there been any significant barriers faced here? We would love to know if those barriers were mainly governmental, corporate, relational (and which was worse) and how you have flourished as a woman in-spite of these difficulties. In order to create a good balance, please do also let us know about the amazing opportunities (economic et al.) that have allowed you to grow, to be heard and to make a difference as women in this society.
We’ve embraced the challenge of adopting a virtual format for this summit. This is the perfect medium to gather in community with inspirational women to commemorate the International Women’s Day with an even broader audience. Thus, we cordially invite you to an interesting and interactive line-up of events to bring about change and to celebrate this special occasion.
