Making the world a better place to live
Magnus Groth, President and CEO, SCA
"International Women’s Day is a day to celebrate the achievements of women and the role that they play in making the world a better place to live. The day also marks a call for change, reflecting on the progress that has been made in levelling the playing field between men and women, but more can be done.
"Around the world, women play an important role in helping create a healthier society through improved hygiene. Yet significant hygiene issues continue to hold women back and have broader consequences that impact people around the world.
"As one of the world’s largest hygiene companies, SCA is dedicated to addressing the hygiene challenges and taboos facing women today. Taboos around issues like menstruation hinder women from participating fully in society; socially, educationally and professionally. Stigmas discourage women from getting the help they need to address common health issues like incontinence. And research shows that this is true across both developing and developed markets alike.
"At SCA, we want to encourage everyone to consider how they can #BeBoldforChange related to the hygiene issues facing women. It does not take a lot. Sometimes we just need to start a conversation and talk about the things that normally make us uncomfortable. Together, we can address the hygiene issues affecting women so that we can improve the health and well-being of all people around the world."
