Street art is a great way to spread positive IWD messages across communities

 February 24, 2022

Street art is a great way to spread positive International Women's Day messages across communities and to support the IWD theme.

Here's some great work from Ms Snaps who specializes in graffiti, murals and typography fonts and digital designs.

Based in Australia, her enthusiasm for street art grew from her passion and love for photography and the outdoors, with a style influenced by her partner's London background. She has a strong connection with her community in her role as a Community Development Officer, and thrives on every opportunity to support people to express themselves creatively. She founded the International Women’s Crew that is made up of eight female artists from around the world. These women create change and transform the world one project at a time, using their art to connect with people. Ms Snaps enjoys pushing her digital creativity and has developed her first NFT project.

"I feel the cosmos offers me new possibilities, collaborations and unlimited potential for my digital art." says Ms Snaps [pictured below left].

A great creative talent collaboration

For the creation, Ms Snaps worked with a local Larrakia woman, Mikaela who is an amazing artist who supported and collaborated on the #BreakTheBias wall.

Mikaela is a proud local Larrakia woman with a strong connection to her Country through culture and community. Throughout her life, she has relished trying new and exciting art forms from performing arts, dance, poetry, pottery, street art, painting, beading and more. During her traineeship in Melbourne Australia under a Community and Culture program combined with her volunteer work for local community organizations abroad, she discovered her passion for working in community arts and being involved with local events and community engagement.
