Honduran jazz artist Wanayran Angerer inspires inclusion via video campaign

When women encourage, inspire, and support one another, they have the power to change the world. Collaboration creates impact, and a collective mindset can unlock limitless possibilities.

In particular, women role models and leaders can pave the way to uplift other women.

International Women's Day (IWD) sees influential women empower other women to #InspireInclusion.

World-renowned jazz performer

Moving Cultures IWD

One such woman is Wanayran Angerer, a world-renowned Honduran Jazz performer, artisan, world traveler, and mother. Wanny, as she is fondly referred to, has traveled across Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean using art and music as a conduit for social and cultural homogeneity to bring about positive change across the globe.

Wanayran is also the founder of Moving Cultures, a volunteer-based, art, culture, and entrepreneurship-oriented social movement, promoting unity in diversity. Wanayran created Moving Cultures from an appreciation for the arts and the belief in its power to make a positive difference.

A woman's rights activist

Alongside her artistic work, Wanayran is also a woman's rights activist. Wanayran founded the first organization to promote female arts in Honduras, called Women in Arts (MUA-Mujeres en las Artes), which is still active after 20 years.

Supporting the IWD 2025 Inspire Inclusion campaign

Wanayran has stepped forward to champion the 2024 IWD #InspireInclusion campaign.

Drawing on her influence and global reach, Wanayran mobilized her Moving Cultures community to #InspireInclusion in a creative and impactful way.

Wanayran encouraged her network to take a photo of themselves striking the IWD pose. With these photos, Wanayran created a video series to the tune of Helen Reddy's inspiring number-one hit I Am Woman. Released in 1972 near the apex of the counterculture era and celebrating female empowerment, I Am Woman became an enduring feminist anthem for the women's liberation movement - and is a great song to #InspireInclusion in the 21st century!

Wanayran has uploaded these fabulous videos to Moving Cultures'  YouTube channel and encourages others to join in with her extensive Moving Cultures x IWD 2024 #InspireInclusion campaign.

Be sure to watch a sample of Wanayran's videos below. Try integrating them into your own IWD 2024 celebrations or be inspired to create your own!

Below are just some of the numerous #InspireInclusion videos posted by Wanayran Angerer.
