Many women researchers are driving progress in heart health

Cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of death in women, yet research and treatments are often not designed to consider the unique risks women face.

Impressive work of the Heart Foundation sees the charity fund many projects led by women researchers, including projects focused specifically on women's heart health. The work of these researchers helps to expand understanding, improve diagnosis, and guide the development of treatments tailored to women’s needs.

The Heart Foundation's vision is: 'Health for every heart, no matter who you are or where you live..."

Nominate the Heart Foundation as a Charity of Choice for your IWD events and activity to help raise awareness and to support the valuable work of this truly impactful charity.

When we invest in research, the benefits extend far beyond the lab

"This International Women’s Day, we are celebrating the theme Give to Gain, recognising that when we invest in research, the benefits extend far beyond the lab...women researchers are driving progress in cardiovascular science, tackling inequity, and turning ideas into impact beyond the lab. Their work is helping shape a future where more people can live longer, healthier lives with heart disease prevented, treated and better understood," said the charity.
