hand2hand IWD Art Challenge

When: March 7 2021

Where: Sydney, Australia

Art Challenge entitled hand2hand.

In 2021 we choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequity. We choose to seek out and celebrate women's achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world. From challenge comes change, so let's all choose to challenge.

We have chosen the image of the Hamsa Hand for artists to created a mixed media art piece that will be auctioned off with funds raised going to the Women's Shed Hornsby Ku-ring-gai and the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Women's Shelter.

The Hamsa is one of the most easily recognizable symbols of all time.  It is a representation of unity. It is a symbol of protection. It is also a symbol of femininity. There is a common thread that it is a protective symbol that brings in luck, health, happiness and good fortune, warding off evil and negative feelings.
