There is no finish line
Xavier Campbell, Essendon Football Club, CEO
Essendon Football Club lives by, and believes in, our vision that everyone matters. We are fully committed to growing, developing and investing in aspiring young female footballers, females working in football and more broadly the game of women's football.
We believe that there is no finish line and will continue to #PressforProgress and drive inclusion through our pathways for female footballers and females in the sporting industry until gender equality is no longer a topic of conversation. The club’s VFL Women's program provides a pathway for women from Australia's North-West Melbourne, the Tiwi Islands and West Arnhem Land to continue their journey towards playing at the elite level.
The club is committed to providing a positive contribution to the development of the game at a grassroots level. It’s important players from our men’s and women’s football programs are positive role models in the community, and we believe working with young players is an important step in inspiring the next generation of female football fans, players, sports administers and sports women throughout the industry.
